This photo goes back to my time as a student at the ‘George Enescu’ Academy of Arts in Iași, Romania.
Born in 1968 in Romania, I graduated in 1997 from the Academy of Arts. The following year I began teaching drawing at the local art school while also working as an associate professor at the university.
Over the next several years I freelanced for American and European companies, focusing on graphic design, 3D modelling and animation. This period allowed me to strengthen my digital skills and broaden my artistic perspective. My aim was to gain a deeper understanding of three-dimensional form and the virtual modelling of the human body — knowledge that ultimately refined my practice as a sculptor.
After several further years devoted to teaching Artistic Anatomy and Drawing at university level, my path shifted in 2005 when I joined the Visual Art Museum in my hometown. The position offered the time and space needed for new creative projects. In the years that followed I also received commissions for portrait busts and public sculptures across the country, many of which are presented on this website.
In 2011 I was awarded a PhD in Visual Arts with a specialisation in Sculpture. My doctoral thesis was entitled Morphology of Emotions in Figurative Sculpture.
